PHILIPPA MORRELL

Having been successful at school and university and worked in various sales and marketing positions in London and Brussels, by the 1980's Philippa was running a 7 acre organic smallholding in Herefordshire. Although the smallholding thrived on her hard work, attention to detail, good animal husbandry and endgaining attitudes, her emotional life did not. Stressful and emotional life events lead to physical problems, including RSI, painful neck and shoulder, bad back and sciatica. In 1989 she came across the Alexander Technique, and started on a long journey which culminated in her qualifying as a teacher of the Alexander Technique in the spring of 2004.

In 1991 Philippa gave up her smallholding and returned to her childhood love, horses. She used the Alexander Technique to help her redevelop her riding skills. She has competed up to Prix St Georges level in competition dressage and now has a strong interest in Classical Dressage.

Based in Hay on Wye and covering Herefordshire, South Shropshire and the Welsh Border, Philippa has been teaching the Alexander Technique since April 2004 when she graduated from the Cumbria Alexander Training School in Kendal. www.fellside.f9.co.uk

Once qualified, a teacher becomes a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.
