WHO IS THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR?

Philippa teaches people of all ages, from teenagers to those in their eighties, with all sorts of problems. For example:

Computer users can be taught how to make sure they sit on their sitting bones and not to let the stimulus of the computer over ride their sense of themselves. Also how much effort does it take to use a mouse?

Those in physical occupations are taught the importance of their joints, remapping them, and relearning how they work.

Osteoporosis sufferers learn that the tighter they hold onto themselves for fear of falling the more likely it is to happen. What is balance?

Musicians benefit by becoming aware of how the arms are supported by the back and that connecting into the feet is also crucial, learning how to be toned rather than too tense or too relaxed.

Runners and other sports people can be made aware that, although there is always an end to be gained, a race to be won, the difference between winning and losing, and not getting injured, can often be the awareness of how they are using themselves.

Sometimes people just feel ill at ease with themselves and the Alexander Technique can help them reconnect.

WHOEVER YOU ARE, WHATEVER YOU DO, THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE IS FOR YOU

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used in creating them.
